This senior design role will report to the brand’s Creative Director and will be responsible for a suite of design duties traversing research, category design, design ideation, sourcing, fittings processes, production handover, and design team leadership.

In carrying out their responsibilities, the Designer will provide research and inspiration for seasonal collections, including the presentation of mood/storyboards, proportion presentation, and trim, accessories, and detail research.

They will design allocated categories from concept to SMS, creating sketches and specifications for new designs and presenting draft designs to the Creative Director.

Following this, they will issue designs directly to suppliers and pattern makers and commence the fitting toiles and prototypes, in conjunction with the brand’s Creative Director.

Additionally, they will be accountable to manage salesmen sample and pre-production sample fittings alongside the production team for allocated styles and categories.

In their collaboration with the production team, the Designer will also ensure that all design documentation and specifications are up to date and passed on in a timely manner.

They will be engaged in the fabric and trim sourcing process, sourcing raw materials, and ordering fabric with consideration of cost, composition, stock availability, and minimums.

They will also be responsible for managing the communication with fabric mills for tracking of sampling fabrics and liaising with the Assistant Designer to ensure schedule deadlines are achieved.

Adjacent to their key duties, the Designer will support the Creative Director in resolving the design of special projects and collaborations and will maintain a design library to build the brand’s design archive.

They will also be accountable to manage their team’s Design Assistant and Design Room Coordinator, overseeing their workflow, and delegating tasks to achieve design team goals.

The talent we seek will hold advanced Adobe Design Suite skills, as well as strong Microsoft Office skills.

They will hold a thorough technical knowledge across garment construction, yarns, and fabric, and will innately understand the brand’s aesthetic and creative intricacies.

The successful Designer will be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and will at all times employ their excellent organisational skills to deliver with quality and timeliness.
