Role Overview


UMENCO is recruiting an eCommerce Manager to join a design-led womenswear brand, known for its meticulously constructed collections and signature minimalism. 

In this key senior role, the eCommerce Manager will be responsible for the success of the brand’s online sales channels and will ensure the optimal engagement and conversion of customers to sales across all digital platforms. Primarily, they will lead, operate, and optimise the brand’s online store to meet and exceed revenue targets, profit margins, and category goals.

They will work to manage all website updates including but not limited to: product uploads; descriptions; SEO titles; marking sold-out items, and owning all homepage merchandising.

They will also lead and facilitate the growth of the online customer database, including acquisition strategies and a VIP customer program to increase retention.

The responsibilities of the eCommerce Manager also extend to managing all online orders and stock inventory via cloud-based software; managing all ‘drop ship’ orders placed via approved partner websites; reviewing and improving 3PL processes; packing online orders, and managing customer service to ensure prompt and positive customer relations.

With significant cross-functional influence, the eCommerce Manager will work closely with the management team to align the digital strategy with company objectives. Additionally, they will collaborate with the sales and marketing team to support and contribute to the seasonal calendar, ensuring that website content is aligned, timely, and engaging, as well as to align all digital communications including website and social media, weekly eDMs, automated flows, and promotions for online customers.

The eCommerce Manager will also collaborate with the Creative Director and web development agency to maintain and develop the brand’s website to deliver a functional and progressive online experience through UX, eCommerce initiatives, and online marketing tactics.

The successful eCommerce Manager will consistently report on weekly sales, website traffic, customer engagement, and conversion, and will implement weekly strategies to meet monthly and yearly growth targets. They will also work closely with external consultants to budget, plan, execute and report on paid advertising on social media and digital platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Google. In doing so, they will monitor and optimise Google ad-word spend and SEO.

The talent we seek will be results-driven and able to grow revenue well beyond the brand’s current sales.

They will hold a minimum of 5 years experience in an eCommerce or digital marketing position in a retail business; possess a robust understanding of Shopify Plus and/or Shopify, Google Analytics, and Klaviyo; have proven experience in optimising online sales and digital channels, and present with a sharp awareness of industry trends and digital innovation.
