Role Overview


UMENCO is recruiting an experienced Finance Director to join a globally renowned brand with a legacy of commercial distinction.

In this role, the Finance Director, will be responsible for overseeing, controlling and administering the financial, accounting, IT and logistics activities of the organisation.

The Finance Director will operate as a key member of the senior management team, delivering commercial advice and assistance in all financial, accounting, logistics, IT and related areas. They will provide financial assessments and insights that will ensure planning, budgeting, operations, sales and marketing activities meet the company’s corporate revenue and growth goals.

In this role, the successful Finance Director will lead and develop the Finance team to ensure the integrity of financial management information, as well as taxation and other statutory compliance.

They will also be responsible for maintaining and improving overall administration processes, internal controls, and IT based systems.

The Finance Director will hold an active role in the strategic planning, budgeting and performance monitoring processes, and will be accountable for evaluating and reporting on the financial aspects of any proposed development, new stores, capital expenditure, investments or sale or acquisition of assets or businesses.

In addition, they will manage all matters relating to property leases; ensure statutory and legislative compliance throughout the business, and will operate as a liaison point for outside advisers including legal, external audit and financial institutions.

The talent we seek will have a minimum of 10 years experience in a finance management position in a retail specialty, FMCG, pharmaceutical or hospitality environment, preferably within a global and multinational company.

They will have exceptional problem solving abilities; be analytically and technically adept; possess strong IT and numerical abilities; hold a broad knowledge of accounting principles; and leverage their innate communication and leadership competencies.
