UMENCO is recruiting a Gallery Coordinator for a noted commercial art gallery, based in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

In this dynamic role, the Gallery Coordinator will be responsible for the commercial success of the gallery and will be accountable for the sales, administration, and operational duties of the business. In addition, the Gallery Coordinator will liase directly with artists and clients under the direction of the founder/owner and curator, to build and maintain relationships with the gallery’s stable of artists and network of collectors.

The successful Gallery Coordinator will be required to do a forensic audit of current administrative systems and will be supported to instigate and implement new organisational systems or templates to streamline the business.

The talent we seek will have a broad knowledge of office systems and logistics, coupled with a keen interest in art and a minimum of 2 years of experience in front-of-house/back-end administration roles for an art gallery, retail outlet, or corporate office.

Our ideal talent will hold a degree in fine art, possess high visual standards and a strong curatorial eye, hold an aptitude for visual merchandising, and have a keen a willingness to grow and learn.
