Role Overview

UMENCO is recruiting with the opportunity for an experienced General Manager to lead the strategic growth of a coveted fine jewellery brand that is dedicated to traditional craftsmanship, sustainability, and exceptional quality.

In this newly created leadership role, the General Manager will develop strategic plans for improving and optimising business activities and will review and improve organisational effectiveness by developing processes, overseeing employees, establishing a highly motivational work environment, and implementing innovative changes.

Alongside this, they will seek out opportunities for expansion and growth by developing new business relationships and will provide guidance and feedback up and across the business to help strengthen functions holistically.

Day-to-day, the General Manager will oversee operations, assign weekly performance goals and ensure their completion, while executing their own strategic priorities.

They will lead the recruitment, onboarding, and training of high-performing employees to achieve objectives for sales, profitability, and market share, and will support employee performance, ensuring that productivity is high, and innovation and creativity are nurtured and encouraged, conducting yearly reviews with a view to train, develop and motivate the team.

Alongside their leadership duties, they will develop, implement, and maintain budgetary and resource allocation plans, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning across the business.

The General Manager will also prepare in-season re-forecasts; manage weekly cash management; analyse new business investments and expenditure, and recommend growth opportunities across functions and departments. As well as this, their scope will also include the analysis of sales performance and position to recommend and action trading decisions.

They will consistently engage and communicate with the wider leadership and management team, delivering recommendations for business-wide improvements and new opportunities, working to deliver efficient and accurate systems and reporting.

The successful General Manager will champion and ensure the team’s adherence to all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, training programs, and cultural values, while perpetually driving the brand’s vision, values and purpose throughout the organisation, with a hands-on approach.
