Role Overview


UMENCO is recruiting with the opportunity for an experienced General Manager to develop and deliver on the strategic growth of a leading creative production agency on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

In this essential role, the General Manager will lead the agency with a commitment to upholding its tenets of original, creative design and outstanding detail. Working as part of the senior leadership team reporting to, and working alongside the Director, this position is integral in leading the team, maintaining its standards of design and creative excellence, and contributing to the future success of the business.

As such, the General Manager will be responsible for the agency’s overarching business strategy, operations, financial goals, people and culture, and the resulting outcomes.

They will develop and implement business strategies, improve processes, and build a high-performing team that drives results, combining business acumen, operational knowledge, and communication excellence. In doing so, they will set a standard that reflects the agency’s reputation and improves the business’ results year-on-year.

Under their leadership, the team will be encouraged and inspired to work toward constant improvement with each project, adopting a more sustainable, more transportive, and more strategic approach to maximising client impact and investment. As an extension of this, the General Manager will support the development of a positive internal culture that bolsters retention and encourages professional development.

Further to this, the successful General Manager will set, and constantly improve policies to support business goals and objectives, as well as identify ways to evolve, innovate and improve the business’ processes to ensure the consistent delivery of excellence.

They will actively contribute to business growth by identifying new clients and securing new business through the pitch and proposal stages, and will maintain and deepen existing client relationships with every opportunity.
