UMENCO is recruiting a Junior Quality Control & Garment Technician for a contemporary resort wear brand that designs with an emphasis on exceptional quality and responsible practices.

In this role, the Junior Quality Control & Garment Technician will join a close-knit, high-performing team of fashion professionals, working closely with the design and production team across numerous tasks throughout the entire development process, from design initiation through to bulk production.

The Junior Quality Control & Garment Technician will be responsible for inspecting fit samples and commenting on construction and finishes, organising fit sessions, taking clear notes and overseeing the documentation of comments and changes relating to development and production.

They will create and update tech packs alongside the design department; liaise daily with various contractors, including local makers and pattern makers across numerous tasks, and supervise daily operations within the distribution department in regards to quality control across swimwear and ready-to-wear.

Alongside this, they will conduct regular quality checks during bulk production at local factories, as well as bulk QC.

The Junior Quality Control & Garment Technician will also assist with flat-packing within a fixed timeframe to prepare goods for dispatch and seasonal bulk trim stocktakes with the garment developer.

The talent we seek will hold 1-2 year’s experience at an aligned womenswear brand, with tertiary qualifications in design, pattern making and grading. Additionally, they will have strong organisational skills, be able to work with accuracy at pace.

They will have robust skills in garment specifications and tech pack creation, experience working with swimwear, and a knowledge of fabric testing methodologies and quality assurance best-practice.

The successful Junior Quality Control & Garment Technician will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and willingness to learn, and a passion for producing quality garments from design to dispatch with an emphasis on sustainability.
