Role Overview


UMENCO is recruiting a creative and adaptable Senior Interior Designer for a multi-faceted design studio, situated in Noosa.

In this role, the Senior Interior Designer will draw on their strong design acumen and client management skills, coupling these with proven high-end project experience to deliver outstanding finished projects that meet the individual needs of their clients.

They will be adept in their ability to understand, interpret and translate the vision of the client into design conception through to completion, while remaining true to the overarching visual sensibilities of the studio.

The key responsibilities of this role include communicating the design vision and brief to the wider design team, delegating tasks to meet project milestones; preparing schemes and project boards; keeping updated samples well-represented with accurate pricing and availability, and overseeing the selection of finishes and furnishings by leading the team to source, coordinate and deliver onsite as required.

They will produce maintain 3D models for all interior projects, including material and finish updates, custom millwork, and furniture alternations, as well as creating detailed interior elevations and construction drawings that meet industry drafting standards.

The talent we seek will be able to integrate creative design development into well organised, formatted presentations, schedules, tear sheets, and other external documents to best represent the company’s brand identity, as well as organising and maintaining all project folders on the internal server, including external correspondence and other relevant materials associated with the success and foundation of every project.

They will also drive successful design reviews and meetings with excellent time management, scheduling of calendar and the preparation of meeting agendas, staged printed documents, and meeting minutes.

The ideal talent will present with a tertiary qualification in Interior Design or Design Architecture, 7+ year’s experience in interior design, and a broad scope of project experience on medium to large-scale residential and commercial projects across planning, managing resources, managing project financials and project performance.

They will be an exceptional communicator and will demonstrate strong project, client, stakeholder and team management skills.

The Senior Interior Designer will be able to lead and deliver multiple projects simultaneously; demonstrate excellent presentation skills for both internal and external presentations; hold the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, and possess very strong design software skills, preferably across Revit, Sketchup, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD.
