Role Overview


UMENCO is conducting a search for a robust Senior Production Manager to join one of Australia’s most revered womenswear brands.

In this pivotal role, the Senior Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the production and sourcing across all products. They will be accountable to ensure that exceptional standards are maintained and delivered across product quality, price architecture, and manufacturing processes.

The Senior Production Manager will also work to lead the team to ensure the smooth running of production and sampling in order to consistently deliver collections on schedule.

In managing the production critical path, the Senior Production Manager will plan for potential hindrances, including long-lead fabrics, international holidays, and wholesale selling periods, and will also be responsible for the accuracy of product costings, freight quotes, and COGS cash-flow management. Additionally, they will conduct supplier and product cost reviews with counter sourcing as needed, in order to improve service and margin.

They will report on seasonal margins, and will lead purchasing review, shipment scheduling, and price negotiation, as well as issuing purchase and production orders including fabric PO’s, cutting, make, and other services.

They will also be accountable to create shipment costings, provide delivery schedules and packing lists to the warehouse, and track timely receipting.

The Senior Production Manager’s duties will also extend to managing the QC process; hosting weekly production update meetings; diligently maintaining data and receipting, and presenting comprehensive end-of-season production reports, identifying problems and opportunities.

Alongside this, the Senior Production Manager will lead the Production Coordinator to ensure quality standards are upheld, and that they are supported to deliver on KPIs. Their people management duties will also extend to performing probationary and annual reviews of the Production Coordinator to ensure that they are developed and supported professionally.

The talent we seek will have strong financial acumen, with proven experience in managing freight costs within budget. They will be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate with brevity and timeliness with both internal team members and external suppliers, and will be exceptionally organised and punctual, with the inherent capability to manage conflicting deadlines, and consistently deliver product to schedule.
