Role Overview

UMENCO is currently recruiting a Financial Manager | Bookkeeper to join a contemporary lifestyle brand, in a part-time capacity.

This role will manage core finance functions while also partnering with the wider team in financial planning and performance reporting. With responsibility across accounts payable and receivable, payroll, reconciliations, cashflow and insurance, the role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring strong financial oversight.

The position leads cashflow forecasting and reporting, monitors financial performance and delivers clear insights to support decision-making. It involves building and managing company-wide reporting frameworks, tracking performance against business objectives and working cross-functionally to coordinate budgets, spending and financial planning. The role also supports end-of-year tax planning in collaboration with the external accountant, ensuring the business remains well-positioned from a financial perspective.

Day-to-day responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely processing of transactions. The role oversees payroll across Head Office and Retail teams, ensuring compliance with Australian regulations, superannuation obligations and employee entitlements. It also includes regular reconciliations across bank accounts, credit cards and balance sheets, supporting month-end processes, BAS preparation and lodgement and maintaining accuracy across financial systems including XERO and the company ERP.

Beyond core finance functions, the role supports broader operational and strategic needs, including managing insurance policies, monitoring FX exposure, overseeing inventory valuations and maintaining lease and asset schedules. The ideal talent will be a qualified Bookkeeper or Accountant with strong Xero experience, a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. This role requires a talent who is proactive, with a solutions-focused mindset, strong communication skills and experience working within an Australian retail or fashion business with exposure to international operations.
