Role Overview
UMENCO is seeking a General Manager for an Australian lifestyle brand, to partner closely with the Founder and lead the next phase of growth for this business.
The General Manager will report directly to the CEO/Founder, this hands-on leadership role will oversee the day-to-day operations of the company, leading the customer service, marketing, production and dispatch teams. Acting as the operational backbone of the business, the General Manager will build scalable structures, optimise performance and help drive the business toward its next stage of growth while maintaining strong profitability.
This role is ideally suited to a financially astute operator with significant experience within high-growth consumer brands across beauty, lifestyle, fashion, wellness or related sectors. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise across operations, supply chain, logistics, systems, project management and financial oversight, with a proven ability to build efficient processes and lead cross-functional teams in fast-paced founder-led environments. They will combine strategic thinking with a highly hands-on approach, brining structure, accountability and commercial rigour while remaining adaptable and aligned with the entrepreneurial culture of the business.
Key responsibilities include overseeing supply chain, warehousing, logistics, ecommerce and wholesale operations; driving systems and process improvements; managing ERP implementation, and ensuring accurate forecasting, inventory management and fulfilment performance. The General Manager will lead key business improvement and expansion projects, manage relationships with suppliers, 3PL partners and service providers, and negotiate commercially sound agreements that support operational excellence. Working closely with finance and leadership, they will monitor budgets, analyse performance data and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service levels and profitability.
The ideal talent will have at least 8 years experience leading complex operational functions, strong commercial and financial acumen, and a demonstrated ability to mentor and develop performing teams. Confident, analytical and solutions-oriented, they will be an exceptional communicator and collaborative leader who thrives in dynamic, rapidly evolving businesses.
