Role Overview


UMENCO is recruiting an Assistant Store Manager for a senior retail leadership position at Aēsop, co-leading the team in the Australian flagship store.

In this role, the Assistant Store Manager has the primary responsibility to support the delivery of meaningful customer experiences that drive overall store performance.

Through close partnership with the Store Manager, they contribute to consistent planning, execution and review, in order to deliver on business goals across the key retail pillars of people, customers, and commercial performance.

The Assistant Store Manager will deliver an exceptional level of care for clientele to fortify business performance—fostering meaningful relationships with new and established customers by drawing on their aptitude for interpersonal communication, brand custodianship, and ability to understand and communicate product knowledge.

The successful talent will draw on a background in the premium retail sector to manage a dynamic scope of work across people leadership; commercial performance; visual merchandising; boutique presentation; rostering and retail operations; stock management, reporting, hosting, events management and training.

In close partnership with the Store Manager, the Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for co-leading, guiding, and advising their team to develop and use their strengths to cultivate a warm environment that meets the store’s performance KPI’s across customer-facing and commercial objectives.

The talent we seek will possess innate, empathetic people and leadership skills, with a nuanced understanding of their client’s needs, will be expert in their ability to deliver advisory, both to clients and team members, constantly building on their comprehensive brand knowledge across product and brand values. They will also extend their expertise to training and hiring, in unison with retail leadership.

They will have a track record of high performance in a customer service and selling environment; experience in leading and motivating a team with the ability to provide coaching and feedback; and will have proven experience in planning, prioritising and delegating.

The successful Assistant Store Manager will be consistent and attentive across all of their interactions with stakeholders, team and customers, and will balance this with a passion for consultative excellence and business growth.
