Distribution & Warehouse Manager

UMENCO is recruiting a Distribution & Warehouse Manager for a noted Australian RTW and lifestyle brand, who are known for their refined wardrobe staples.

The Distribution & Warehouse Manager will be primarily responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring the efficient and accurate execution of tasks across wholesale, retail and ecommerce functions. This includes the management of outbound pick-packing, invoicing, deliveries and freight bookings, along with inbound freight processes such as cross-checking packing lists against production documents. The role also encompasses the implementation of best practices in inventory management, stock control and packing compliances, ensuring alignment with the brands vision and values. Clear communication with internal teams and external suppliers regarding packing list discrepancies, purchase order variances and faulty returns is essential to maintain operational integrity.

Leadership is a key focus with the Distribution & Warehouse Manager being accountable for building, developing and inspiring a high-performing warehouse team. Responsibilities include recruitment, onboarding, training, performance development and managing exits, while fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, respect and integrity. Seasonal allocation of resources is managed to meet deadlines effectively and a clean, safe working environment is maintained in compliance with OH&S standards. The role also involves driving continuous improvement in business processes, product quality and cost-saving initiatives to support organisational growth.

Financial oversight is another critical component, with accountability for managing the Distribution Centre’s budget including labor, logistics and freight costs. The successful talent will also maintain the shipping manual and update suppliers as needed. Strategic thinking, strong business acumen and a result-driven mindset are essential, along with the ability to prioritise, problem-solving and operate effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

To excel in this role, a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar industry position is required. The ideal talent will demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to coach and mentor others. The Distribution & Warehouse Manager must be customer-focused, adaptable and skilled in building trust-based relationships, ensuring operational excellence while also contributing to strategic direction and cultural leadership of the business.
