Role Overview
UMENCO is currently recruiting a Store Manager for a contemporary RTW brand who design considered, high quality and sustainably sourced wardrobe essentials.
The Store Manager will hold primary accountability for the seamless and effective operation of the running of the store. A key responsibility of the Store Manager is to consistently drive sales performance across weekly, monthly and annual targets both at a personal and team level. This includes setting individual sales budgets aligned with company expectations and ensuring all team members are fully informed of their financial objectives and progress. The Store Manager is also expected to foster a strong sales culture by focusing on key performance indicators such as average transaction value, items per sale and customer database acquisition. While maintaining an exceptional standard of customer service is paramount – nurturing enduring client relationships and developing a VIP client base to support long-term brand loyalty and commercial success. The Store Manager will also lead, motivate and train the team, while managing stock control, preventing losses and upholding the brand’s high standards of visual presentation. Central to this role is the effective implementation and maintenance of company policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with the brand’s overall objectives.
The Store Manager requires a comprehensive skill set that includes the ability to meet sales targets, lead and inspire a team and bring significant experience in retail management. Strong organisational and communication abilities are essential, along with an in-depth knowledge of the Australian mid-to-high-end fashion market, including competitor insights and local demographics. Adherence to workplace laws and a commitment to outstanding customer service are also vital components of this leadership position.
Key responsibilities for the Store Manager span a broad range of areas including driving sales, maintaining high customer service standards, efficient stock management, team leadership and comprehensive staff training. Additional responsibilities include enforcing HR policies, managing store administration and maintenance, controlling store expenditures and ensuring consistent visual merchandising standards. The successful execution of these responsibilities will contribute significantly to the stores’s overall performance and the continual growth and reputation of the brand.
