Role Overview


UMENCO is seeking a Production Manager for a contemporary womenswear designer whose aesthetic is defined by understated elegance with a focus on flawless fit.

The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the production process from start to finish, ensuring efficient workflow and timely deliveries. The duties will include collating weekly orders and assigning them to the appropriate production teams, while also providing expert guidance on sizing and customisation in coordination with the Wholesale Account Manager. The successful talent will work closely with the cutting, sewing and quality control teams providing leadership and technical expertise to meet weekly targets and maintain consistent production timelines.

The successful talent will also be responsible for managing inventory and ordering materials, such as fabric and trims to ensure that stock levels are sufficient for production demands. Maintaining data integrity within the MRP system, managing production schedules and overseeing the critical paths for suppliers and production teams are essential elements of this role. Building strong relationships with suppliers and vendors will be key as the talent will negotiate with offshore and local factories to optimise costing and improve profit margins.

Collaborating closely with the founder, pattern makers and designers you will ensure that new and existing designs are accurately translate for production. The successful talent will streamline and create specification sheets for each new collection as well as liaising with freight forwarders and manufacturing to organise shipments and invoicing coordinating with the accounts department. Exceptional organisational skills, efficient communication and the ability to work independently as well as within a team are essential
