Role Overview
UMENCO is currently recruiting a Sales Account Manager for a leading garment supplier, based in Melbourne.
This role will report to the Director of Marketing, the Account Manager will play a vital role within the Sales & Marketing department. This position focuses on managing and expanding a portfolio of existing customer accounts, while identifying and securing new business opportunities. Collaborating closely with the Fabric & Garment Purchasing Coordinators, Warehouse Manager and the Production & Finance Teams, this role serves as a key link between customers and the company’s internal operations.
The Sales Account Manager is primarily responsible for maintaining strong, long-term relationships with existing fabric customers across Victoria and interstate, ensuring customer retention through proactive service and regular communication. The role involves achieving sales targets, promoting the full product range and providing valuable market feedback to help guide product and sales strategies. Business development is also crucial, involving the identification and engagement of new potential clients through various channels, assessing their viability and contributing to broader market insights.
Accurate record-keeping of client accounts, managing new customer onboarding and working closely with internal departments to ensure seamless order fulfilment are essential administrative aspects of the role. The Sales Account Manager is expected to submit regular sales and activity reports to the Director of Marketing and contribute to team meetings by sharing updates and strategic insights. Collaboration with the production and purchasing teams will be important for developing special product requests and custom solutions.
This role demands a customer-focused, solution-oriented professional with excellent communication and organisational skills. The Sales Account Manager will be a self-motivated individual with proficiency in excel, CRM systems and cloud based platforms. The ideal talent has at least two years of experience in account management or sales, preferably within a B2B or textile-related environment.
